Site Characteristics
Relief features like the steepness of slope are basically determining the way water is discharged. Depending on the steepness of slope, stream springs (rheocrene), seepage springs (helocrene), pool springs (limnocrene), as well as transient or mixed forms are developed.
In turn, the water which is discharged by a spring and flows down in a brook is able to sculpture the relief. Altitude, steepness of slope and exposition are all influencing further site factors like light or vegetation of the spring area.
